HISTORY: Zero @ the Drakengard wiki
PERSONALITY: Described as lazy, irritable, apathetic, and completely uninhibited when it comes to men, Zero would be the first to say that there's nothing good about her, that her life is unarguably worthless. This isn't quiet self-deprecating humor either—the fact that there's nothing of value in her entire existence is her own frank opinion. In her own words, the only thing she has that she can call her own is her life, something she understands quite well that she'll lose soon enough. Still, while she gives the impression of an edgy, raging nihilist, it doesn't mean that she likes the fact that her miserable life is completely without value. Crass and vulgar, it's clear that she doesn't give a damn about anyone else's opinions or what they might think of her, but finding some kind of meaning or purpose to her life—or even death—for herself? Now that's important to her.
To put it simply, Zero is, well... simple. If she has to do something, she wants to get it done quickly. If she doesn't want to do it, no force on earth could get her to do it. Due to the fact that the only goal she has is to kill all her sisters, this spells disaster for everyone else. It doesn't matter who stands in her way to reaching her sisters and killing them—whether they're soldiers, women, children, or the elderly, she doesn't give a damn. If someone or something poses an obstacle, she'll get rid of them by any means necessary, simple as that. However, that isn't to say she really enjoys killing people. In truth, she's been killing people for so long that she describes it as being "as natural as taking a piss." Whereas her companion Dito revels in the blood and pained cries of their enemies, Zero doesn't care one way or the other about it. With how violent and traumatic her life has been, her reflex has always been to kill first, ask questions never. In her eyes, whether or not she likes it, it's the fastest way to achieve what she wants done, and that's all that matters in the end.
When faced with obstacles though, Zero's irritability and short temper quickly reveal themselves, and they often get in the way of her own goals. She's extremely impatient and will complain about what's bothering her the entire time she's dealing with it. After causing an avalanche by yelling too loudly, she blames the snow for being too much of a pussy when she "wasn't even that loud." Rather than simply try and get through a platforming section as quickly as possible, she'll waste energy complaining about it every second she can. It doesn't matter if someone might be a good source of information, if they annoy her, she'll kill them immediately, even if they're king of the fairies. Her own companions aren't exempt from this as she frequently threatens physical violence when they bother her, and if not violence, she can just as easily come up with a sarcastic insult for them. With Mikhail, it's not just threats; she frequently beats or stabs him when he's irritating her in particular. At times she can be overconfident in her abilities, almost haughty even, which lends even more to her rushing into things without any sort of plan, and thus landing her in either an embarrassing situation or more work she now has to fight her way out of.
While Zero bends over backwards to present herself like a villain, underneath all the apathetic vulgarity and incessant slaughter is just a deeply lonely woman coping with her traumatic world as best she can. In the past, the few instances of kindness she ever tried to show were always repaid in the cruelest fashion possible, and since then, she's made it a point to look out only for herself. Despite that, Zero is not incapable of showing kindness and even love. More than a year after his death, she frequently has nightmares where she calls out to the dragon Michael, desperately wishing he was still alive with her. Even though she abuses Mikhail, she truly does love him and prioritizes his life over everything else. When push comes to shove, she wants him to save himself first, and during the story branches where he does indeed die for her, she either flies into a bloodthirsty rage or breaks completely. For all the crap she gives her other companions as well, she's grateful for their help and sees taking care of them as something like a responsibility. When the option is available, she does what she can to let them live rather than die for her. In the cases where they betray her, she never shows anger over it, only something like regretful resignation. Zero has a heart despite it all; she just doesn't think there's much use for it.
For as much as she'd prefer to be lazy and never have to do anything, when Zero sees something as her responsibility, she commits to it come hell or high water. Accidental or not, she allowed the Flower to take root in the world through the creation of her sisters—which means she has to get rid of them all so as not to let the Flower destroy humanity. Her companions the Disciples were never meant to gain individual personalities, having been originally created from a flock of doves as power limiters for her sister, but now that they're real people and dragged into her mess, she'll do what she can to ensure that they live through it. Given that she essentially raises Mikhail, it wouldn't be too far off to call her his mother figure, and she does her best to act the part, protecting him from true danger when she can and teaching him what she knows about the world. With how exhausted, bitter, and cynical Zero is about the world, no one would ever expect her to do any of these things, but she chose to regardless. Even if it's painful, even if she'd just as much rather drop dead and be done with everything, she'll finish what she started no matter what.
ABILITIES/SKILLS:
INTONER ABILITIES. The majority of Zero's abilities come from the magic granted to her via the parasitic Flower Eldritch abomination in her eye.
SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH/SPEED Pretty self-explanatory. While she was certainly a seasoned-killer pre-parasite infection, she certainly didn't tear through armies single-handedly or take down monsters the size of buildings without breaking a sweat. She makes use of this ability all the time. SONG MAGIC An Intoner's song magic covers such a wide variety of things, you could essentially call it a reality warping power. Song can summon gigantic guardian beasts known as daemons or angels. It can generate shields, barriers, and cast curses to make someone lose their strength. It can make familiars out of living creatures, like turning birds into people that serve as power limiters. Song magic can even be used to heal illness or strengthen other people.
However, this all comes at a major price. Without aid from a Disciple, summoning a daemon or angel can break the summoner's mind. Using Song magic directly on a normal person can drive them insane, or transform them into a monster. Even indirectly, just by being in the presence of an Intoner i.e. someone with Song magic for long enough will irreparably harm a person. Should the Intoner die or disappear, whoever was enthralled by their Song will go insane.
Because of this, Zero never really uses her Song magic aside from making shields for herself. I'm not sure if a nerf is required for any of the other abilities as Zero would never choose to make use of them.HEALING/REGENERATION In canon, the only way to truly kill an Intoner is with the power of a dragon, whether with an actual dragon or something like a weapon made out of a dragon. Anything else is a mere delay. For example, if Zero had her arm cut off, she could stick the limb right back to where it was cut. If she receives a wound that should be fatal, her body will regenerate completely. To regenerate, the flower in her eye grows impossibly large, and from its center, a blood-drenched Zero climbs her way out of it. This process can be stopped or delayed by blocking the center of the flower so that Zero can't come out, but otherwise, the regeneration is indefinite.
Thanks to her skill in slaughter, she doesn't have to make use of this ability all that often. To nerf this, of course I expect that she can be killed with other things that aren't dragon-related. A full regeneration could be so exhausting that it knocked her out for a week, and self-healing like reattaching her limbs could take her out for a day.BLOOD MAGIC The more blood an Intoner is soaked in, the more powerful they become. At a certain point, they can reach what the game calls "Intoner Mode," which in practice means they get an extra strength and speed boost for a brief amount of time so they can run around killing enemies like a wild animal with sick breakdance moves. For that short period, they also become invulnerable. In canon, Zero uses this magic very frequently thanks to the amount of enemies she encounters, but in Fellden, that may not be the case. SEX DRIVE Intoners have an incredibly high sex drive. This isn't really much of a skill, but evidently Zero has outstanding, inhuman endurance, especially when it comes to sex.
WEAPON PROFICIENCY. Having fought to survive nearly her entire life, Zero is extremely adept in combat. Her preferred weapon is a sword, but she is also proficient in using spears, chakrams, and bracers for hand-to-hand combat.
INVENTORY/COMPANIONS: Just her sword.
FACTION CHOICE: Court of Stars
REASON: Zero's had a realistic, albeit very cynical, outlook on life ever since she was a child. She thinks with her gut and goes on instinct, rarely ever taking the time to think things through or plan. Even so, while her actions point more towards being short-sighted, she actually acts with the bigger picture always in mind.
TATTOO: Draco, behind her left ear.
SUITABILITY: Given her medieval/feudal fantasy world and her own past, she's very used to fighting and killing and all sorts of magical elements. Participating in a war won't bother her in the least. If the Court of Stars needs anyone or anything dead, Zero's their girl.

So I'm really supposed to just talk into air and believe a bunch of people can listen to this later if they want to? Fucking hell, even telepathy made more sense than this shit.
[There's a small sigh before it suddenly goes dead silent. Someone sure just realized that that whole bit was probably recorded! And she has no idea how to get rid of it. When she starts again, there's no denying the embarrassment in her tone.]
Look, I'm just gonna get straight to the point. Anyone here know where the best bar is? I don't care about food, I don't care about atmopshere, or any of that fancy-schmancy bullshit that no one ever gave two fucks about. Shit, I don't even need the drinks to be good. I just need a bar where I can drink a lot without anyone fucking bothering me.
Unless you want a bar fight I guess. It'd be a good way to kill time.
Answer if you got anything helpful. Don't bother if you don't, I don't wanna spend all day listening to shit.
LOG: Top-level on the Fellden Test Drive!
NOTES, QUESTIONS, COMMENTS: It's not an ability or skill exactly, but Zero has a prosthetic arm that works thanks to a magic parasite (different from the Flower). On that note, the Flower itself is such a powerful entity that it's supposed to feed off of Zero over time and inevitably consume her entirely by driving her insane, buuuuut given her canon-point and the game setting, I'm just going to roll with it being sealed off/nerfed for the entirety of her time in the game.
